Lemon Blackberry Smoothie Recipe



Plump blackberries in peak season are my absolute favorite! I could eat them by the bucketful! But the combo of lemon, blackberries and yogurt wonderfully round out this tasty and healthy smoothie.


Blackberries are filled with antioxidants and fiber; the lemon zest and juice gives an extra boost of vitamin C and limonene; yogurt adds probiotics for good gut health and healthy fats to keep you full; and broccoli sprouts pack an incredible punch from a compound called sulforaphane, which is know to support detoxification, and has anti-inflammatory benefits that can strengthen brain health, the heart, and digestion.


I always recommend adding protein and extra fiber to round out the Simple Superfood Smoothie formula, to make sure your smoothie is supporting your hormones to keep you full, focused and energized!

Lemon Blackberry Smoothie

1 serving


Ingredients:

3/4 cup blackberries (fresh in season, frozen when not)

Zest and juice of 1 lemon

1/4 cup broccoli sprouts

8 oz plain, full fat yogurt (cow, sheep or diary free will work)

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 serving vanilla protein powder

1 - 2 cups almond milk (or other nut milk)


Directions:

1. Add all ingredients to a high speed blender. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.

2. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately
